What is your small step toward more collaborative decisions?

Many of us want decisions to be made differently – at home, at work, in our neighborhood, or in our government. Maybe you want a way to include more voices without getting stuck. Maybe you don’t like how you make decisions with (or for) your children, family, or friends. Maybe you are tired of compromise or people with more power getting the most say. Maybe you just want some hope that we can do better than voting, where as many as 49% of the people end up not getting what they need.

From small conversations at home to transforming your whole community or organization, change is easier together. At Decide Together events, we invite, inspire, and support each other in making decisions that care for everyone’s needs.

Join us to experience and support the change you want to create!

Update Aug 5: Our next Decide Together event is scheduled for Nov 14-15! You can register here. We are planning to mix everyone's favorite practices from the last event with whatever you want to add.
We also set up a new community space on Hylo, where you can connect with others and ask questions. Please help us spread the word and we hope to see you soon!

Join an upcoming Decide Together event to learn by doing with simple practices and social games.

Next in-person event: Nov 14-15, 2025 in west Netherlands (register here)

  • We will likely meet in Amsterdam, we plan to finalize the location in September.
  • We are offering two full days of sessions, including an introduction workshop on the morning of Nov 14. We plan to post our final program in September. You can look at the program from the May event to see what we are likely to be offering.
  • Friday and Saturday Nov 14-15 from 9.00 to ~17.00 (with a possible after party!)

Last in-person event: May 14-16, 2025 in east Netherlands (Groenlo)

  • May 15 – main event: we have a full day of opportunities to connect, share, and experience collaborative decisions. Everyone is welcome to self-organize additional activities and explore together.
  • May 14 – orientation and learning: Are you new to collaborative decisions or want to expand your skills? Join us on the afternoon of May 14 for an introduction and a taste of our collaborative practices.

Are you new to collaborative decisions, or want to understand how we think of it?
You can watch this two hour recording from one of our introduction workshops: Intro to Integration Jan 2025 (ITI1).
Like all of our offerings, we share this recording as a gift, with a request to consider gifting us money or support so we can continue this work.

Contributing to make this possible

The organizing team offers our events as a gift, meaning no one is required to pay to participate. We ask people to gift us money to help cover our costs and some of our living expenses. We are taking on more risk by choosing not to charge people for participation because we really want to move away from capitalism. This is a small step towards our dream of a world where resources flow freely to where they are needed, also called the gift economy.

We invite you to choose an amount that considers both your needs and ours, including any funding you can use from an organization or program. You can gift us money even if you don’t participate, and you are more than welcome to participate even if you are not able to gift us any money. You can also support us in other ways, like inviting more people, taking notes, or helping build our community.

Space for all kinds of experiences

Are you new to collaborative decisions or not even sure what it means?

You can just show up, ask questions, and learn by doing. Unlike reading or watching a course, in “real-play” sessions you get to experience how things work in live interaction with other people. We focus on using simple practices for decisions that everyone can support. You can bring specific challenges to work on, like resolving a conflict with your friends, making more collaborative decisions at work, or getting parents more involved at your children’s school. We’ll work together to discover what is possible and supportive in each situation.

Do you have some experience or maybe even teach or facilitate?

Share your favorite practices, expand your knowledge, and get support for your challenges. We welcome diverse perspectives! You can help with organizing, offer a session, or contribute to one of our projects. You can also just participate – it’s up to you. We draw from different methods and see disagreements as opportunities to deepen our understanding and find more creative solutions. Each of us can make a difference simply by showing up and trying. With every decision that truly works for everyone, no matter how small, we create new possibilities for efficient and caring ways to work together.

Are you called to support a more collaborative future?

Join us in movement building, prototyping new designs, and growing our ecosystem for transforming collaboration. Global issues like increasing polarization and violence may seem beyond your influence, and yet their roots are all around you. Find your own path to offer new possibilities and make them as accessible as possible. You can focus on your organization or a local project, or connect with others to engage with activism and systemic change. Discover how you can contribute to a more collaborative and sustainable future.

Taking small steps together

The organizing team will provide the structure, core sessions, and support for self-organizing. The rest is up to you! You can choose to just follow along, and taking a more active role can deepen your learning and help us build community. This is an opportunity to explore, support others, and practice how to lead change. We invite you to co-create an event where we live what we learn, connecting in small groups to discover common ground and shared purpose.

Still not sure what to do? Here are some options…

Just show up!
