Join or support our events!
Online sessions starting October 2024
In-person event – details coming soon

We recently decided not to hold a full in-person event in November, to give people more time to plan.
We paused the in-person registration until we select new dates, likely in May 2025.

Taking small steps together

Do you dream of simple practices for decisions that everyone can support? What can you do to transform collaboration with your co-workers, leaders, employees, friends, family, neighbors, and even your local government?

Join Decide Together to experience and support the change you wish to create.

Global issues like poverty, violence, and war reflect a world-wide loss of collaboration skills. You probably see the roots of these issues every day – people compromise or use force simply because they don’t know what else to try.

When people try to move away from hierarchy and top-down decisions, they often struggle to create a culture of deep listening and care. They continue to fall back to existing habits like using majority-rule votes or unilateral decisions. Or they get stuck trying to include everyone’s needs until they run out of energy, patience, or time.

What can you do to support decisions that care for everyone?

  • Bring your real-life challenges and ideas.
  • Find practices that fit your specific situation.
  • Try out different approaches.
  • Create conversation starters.
  • Share your hopes and fears.
  • Get inspired.
  • Try something new.
  • See what is possible.
  • Connect. Experiment. Lead. Support.

Find your own small steps toward more collaborative decisions.

  • Are you new to collaborative decisions or not even sure what it means?
Accelerate your learning journey by immersing yourself in live practice of diverse approaches.
  • Already trying it and maybe even sharing it with others?
Share your wisdom, get support for any struggles, and help us create pathways for more shared learning in the future.

Let’s come together and build a network for transforming the future of collaboration.

We invite you to co-create an event where we live what we learn, connecting in small groups to discover common ground and shared purpose. Surround yourself with passionate people who long to develop sustainable ways of working.

Bring your challenges and success stories. Explore differences and disagreements as opportunities to deepen our understanding and find more creative solutions. Learn by doing as we make decisions together, working with real-world challenges and sharing feedback. Connect with others and build a network for future collaboration and support!

How much does it cost?

The organizing team offers this event as a gift, meaning no one is required to pay to participate. We ask people to gift us money to help cover our costs and some of our living expenses. We are taking on more risk by choosing not to charge people for participation because we really want to move away from capitalism. This is a small step towards our dream of a world where resources flow freely to where they are needed, also called the gift economy.

We invite you to choose an amount that considers both your needs and ours, including any funding you can use from an organization or program. You can gift us money even if you don’t participate, and you are more than welcome to participate even if you are not able to gift us any money. You can also support us in other ways, like inviting more people, taking notes, or helping build our community.

Curious about this approach? Visit our Gifting page to learn more or use our guided process to engage more deeply with what it takes to transition toward a more needs-based economy.

How would you like to participate?

Just show up!

  • Participate in guided sessions and self-organized conversations to explore challenges, tools, and actions that support collaborative decisions.
  • We plan to offer different opportunities to try specific small steps and see what works for you and others.
  • Unlike reading or watching a course, in “real-play” sessions you get to experience how things work in live interaction with other people.

Initiate or organize a session

  • We invite everyone who wants to lead a discussion, work on a specific challenges, or share their favorite practices to organize a session in advance using this form [to be added soon].
  • You can also share ideas for sessions and see if anyone is willing to organize them.

Bring your team

  • Accelerate changes in your team, projects, community, or organization by exploring and learning together. Participating with people you already collaborate with helps build shared commitment and skills.
  • We invite you to bring your current challenges and discover how our decision making practices can support your work.

Co-create content

  • Contribute to our knowledgebase of CDM practices, which is also an experiment in collaborative editing and stewarding community commons.
  • Initiate or join projects for developing more accessible practices and materials.
  • Help us map different approaches and when to use them.
  • If you already steward a set of practices or a tool, you may want to join our CDM integration panel or our collaborative projects space. We will add links for those soon.

Immerse yourself in an embodied experience to sense what is needed and find new ways forward.
